Separate Writing

Brevard Elder Law

Florida law allows you to attach a separate writing to your will leaving items of tangible personal property to the people indicated. (see Florida Statutes, Section 732.515). This statute allows a written statement to be attached to your Will that lists items of tangible personal property and the person to whom the property is given at your death. This procedure allows you to make changes without having to see a lawyer and have a new will written each time you desire a change. Tangible personal property is such things as furniture, artwork, automobiles, and other physical items. The separate writing may be prepared before or after the Will is written.
